Description

Here is a vintage 1950's 8mm film reel storage and carrying case made by the Barnett-Jaffe Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia PA. This is a hard sided case that appears to hold up to 12 x 8mm 5" film reels in metal cases on a burgundy felt lined liner with padded strip on bottom of the case. Case outside measurements are approximately 8-1/2" in width, 6-1/4" front to back and 6-1/4" tall. Measurements do not include handle, hinges or latch extensions from case. Handle is molded plastic or bakelite(?) and in excellent condition. Brass plated metal parts do have some plating loss and scratches from use as shown. Latch and hinges work as should. Brown leather front top right corner has been rubbed off down to expose wood underneath. No other cosmetic damage that I can find. Case exterior could use a good cleaning. Inside burgundy felt is in excellent condition. I am including the clear plastic 8mm 5" film reel as shown with the case. The reel is marked a 'Patent Pending' and made by the 'American Molded Products Company' of Chicago. The reel is in excellent condition and would hold up to 200 feet of 8mm film.
